News Release: A Critical Evaluation Of The Despicable Activities Of Red-Capped Igbo Natives In Nigeria
![]() |
Igbo Chiefs on a recent visit to Buhari |
A core foundation upon which International
Society for Civil Liberties & the Rule of Law-Intersociety was
founded in 2008 is for the recognition, respect, preservation and protection at
all times of right to ethnic identity of all ethnic groups in Nigeria
particularly the Igbo race. The right to ethnic identity under reference is
such that must be recognized and respected during national elections,
formulation and implementation of national policies and allocations of national
political appointments. Our concept of right to ethnic identity,
which is also in line with international standards; is the right of every
ethnic nationality and citizen in Nigeria to live and prosper side by side with
another member of Nigeria’s ethnic nationality and citizenship without
emasculation and magisterial lordship. Nigeria’s present first class and
second class citizenship is frowned at, at all times and must be fought
to a stand-still.

News Release: Obinomics; A Standard Benchmark For New Governors In Nigeria
![]() |
Governor Willie Obiano |
It is the position of the
leadership of International Society for
Civil Liberties & the Rule of Law that the two pillars holding the
democratic foundation in modern time particularly in Africa are laid on input
and output legitimacies. When a governor emerges in an election through
credible popular votes, his or her emergence becomes a product of input
legitimacy. But if he or she emerges otherwise, his or her emergence
becomes a product of mechanical legitimacy. Output
legitimacy is the case when the input legitimate governor changes
and upgrades the socio-economic conditions of his or her people and their
environmental abode through innovative and creative governing styles.

News Release: From Polling Booths To Information Propaganda Warfare: Enemies Of Igbo Nation Are At It Again
The leadership of International
Society for Civil Liberties & the Rule of Law has observed with dismay
and total disappointment over unleashing of another round of warfare against
the Igbo nation in Nigeria. It is vividly recalled that the referenced Nation
have on 28th March 2015 voted massively for the out-going President
& Commander-in –Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and his PDP. The massive Igbo votes came from
sedentary Igbo natives (Igbo natives of home origin) and pastoralist Igbo
natives (Igbo natives of outside residency). The massive Igbo votes would have
been doubled or tripled but for systematic and scientific castration of their
voting strengths by Prof Attahiru Jega’s INEC by way of denial of PVCs leading
to exclusion of millions of their registered brothers and sisters from the
voting. As if it was not enough, millions of them with PVCs were further denied
voting by designed widespread Card Reader failure in polling booths
particularly in most of over 15,000 polling units in the Southeast zone.

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State |
By
Kenneth Uwadi
It was normal news report
in a popular Owerri based newspaper; the type we are used to seeing regularly,
but would, most likely, merely glance through before turning our attention to
more ‘important’ matters. But when I saw a particular report, confined to a
small corner of the newspaper, something about it spoke a very clear message to
my heart of what will happen in the Governorship election in Imo State. The
newspaper has the heading, “Imo Speaker loses Senatorial election,” another
headline said “ Rochas Okorocha furious over defeat”

president, governors, senate or deputy senate president, speaker or deputy
speaker of federal and State legislative houses; for the purpose of getting
bountiful cuts and contracts from the government coffers; without putting
electoral, governance or legislative illegitimacy of the referenced elected
politicians into account.

News Release: 2015 Presidential Election Outcome: Other Than Threat Of Violence, Asari Dokubo Has Said It All
![]() |
Asari Dokubo |
The 2015 Presidential
Poll in Nigeria may have papery come and gone, but the wounds inflicted on
different ethnic nationalities by masqueraded ethno-religious zealots wearing
the gown of unbiased electoral umpire can never heal in a hurry.
If extreme care is not taken, the wounds can transform into triggers, which in
turn, can snowball into a new generational militancy and insurgency in the
country including its oil rich zone. The injured and wounded ethnic
nationalities remain the minorities of the Southern Nigeria, the minorities of
the Northern Nigeria popularly called the Middle-Belt; the
Christian minorities of the North, the pastoralist Igbos and the
pastoralist minorities or Igbos and Southern minorities of the
Southwest and the Northern residency; and the Igbo nation. Below is the
public statement issued on 1st April 2015 by Mr. Asari Dokubo of the
suspended Niger Delta Volunteers Force, on behalf of the Southern Minorities
Self Determination Groups popularly called Niger Delta Militants.
It is important to point out here that we are not a party to violence or
insurrection in Nigeria or any part thereof, but fundamental issues Mr. Asari
Dokubo raised other than threat of insurrection or violence, are very appealing
to us.
